If you've been exploring Lakewood Ranch, you've no doubt come upon 44th Avenue East.
Not only will 44th Avenue East connect eastward with Uihlein Road and the future Bourneside Road, work is underway to make it Lakewood Ranch's direct 8 mile route to Manatee County beaches.
2 new bridges that will span the Braden River are the most expensive part of the project. An I-75 overpass is in the planning stages. It's estimated that 44th Avenue East will significantly reduce traffic on the major east/west routes of SR 64 and SR 70.
